This league is centered on instruction. Participants will learn basic and advanced fundamentals in a fun group setting and get to play games. This program is only available to the V/S School District youth. Parent/Volunteer Coaches are needed to make this program work! |
This program is a fun introduction to America’s favorite pastime of baseball/softball! Participants will have a BLAST as they learn to bat and field on teams of 4-6 players. No gloves are required since the focus will primarily be on the offensive components of the game. |
Kids will learn cheerleading skills and techniques from the Viking cheerleaders during a week in September. They will then perform during the Vinton-Shellsburg football game on that Friday. |
Craft day for kids is a great way for your child to make a special holiday gift/ornament. Have fun and share some treats. Lunch is provided. |
Are you ready for some football? You are invited to participate in this instructional program. Games are played at the field to the west of Tilford. Equal participation and fun for everyone. |

Get into the swing of summer with this instructional golf program for youth in grades 6th and under. The fact that participants also get to play the course on the final day continues to keep this program shooting better than par! This program is made possible through VPRD’s partnership with the Vinton Country Club. No membership needed. |
Hey Hey! You all hear? We are gonna teach you how to cheer! Participants will learn exciting cheers and pom pom routines from the high school Voyagers squad. They’ll then get the opportunity to take their V/S spirit to the court when they perform their cheers between a F/S and Varsity basketball game. |
Kiddie Kickers - Look Ma, no hands! Come out and “kick it” with us Monday afternoons in April as your child will learn about and improve basic soccer skills through fun drills, activities and games. Soccer Stars - Join us to discover why soccer continues to be the world’s most beloved and popular sport among both girls and boys! Kids will get a kick out of playing games with each other after learning the fundamentals. Practice will be held at the field west of Tilford Elementary. |

Over winter break we will hold an all morning dodgeball tournament at the Vinton Recreation Center! |
Let your children race to the finish at our local Hershey Track Meet! Ages 9-14 year olds who finish first places in their event will be able to race at the State Hershey Track Meet. |
Kids will swim, run & bike in a mini triathlon that will introduce your athletic youngsters to what is all entailed in this growingly popular sporting event! |
This wrestling tournament is sponsored by the Vinton Lions Club and VPRD. Limited to the first 230 wrestlers. |
