The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department offers a large selection of youth and adult recreational and leisure time activities along with special programs for people with disabilities.
The department also operates many facilities including the Recreation Center, Skate & Activity Center, modern Miniature Golf Course, and the Vinton Community Swimming Pool. The department also operates many acres of park land that are designed for many uses by the public.

  • The VPRD Board meets the second Thursday of each month at the Vinton Recreation Center. Call the Vinton Parks & Recreation office at (319)472-4164 prior to the meeting to be placed on the agenda. All meetings are open to the public.
    AmeriCorps
    A group from AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps), Cedar 5, is in the process of helping Vinton Parks & Recreation Department build a Veterans Memorial. Cedar 5 will be spending eight weeks to make the memorial reality. The project started August 12 and the team is making staggering progress. A special thanks to the AmeriCorps NCCC!
