Adult Special Populations

The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of activities and events for the adult population within our community that have mental and/or physical disabilities. Through our programming, we strive to provide engaging environments that provide affordable opportunities for socialization, recreation and fun!

Advance registration is required for many of these activities. Contact the Vinton Parks & Recreation Department office at 319.472.4164 to register. Our bowling and golf activities are only for Benton County residents.

2019 Activities

Casino Day - January 16, 1:00-3:00 PM, Skate & Activity Center, free

Bowling - February 1, 10:00 AM, Berry's Lanes, $6/participant, ($12/staff member) (includes bowling & pizza)

Miniature Golf - June 4 & August 6,  10:30-11:30 AM, Skate & Activity Center, $1/participant

Swimming - July 12, 10:30-11:30 AM, Swimming Pool, free

Golf - July 17, 9:00 AM-noon, Vinton Country Club, free, $7/participant (includes golf & lunch)

Pickleball- August 7, 14, & 21, 10:00-11:00 AM, Williams Court at Riverside Park, free

Dance - February 13, March 13, July 3 & October 30, 1:00-3:00 PM, lunch available at noon at a cost, Skate & Activity Center, dance admission-$2/participant
